Inventory for Critical Managerial Soft Skills (ICMS) – Development and Standardisation

Purpose: This paper presents the findings of a group empirical studies for conceptual and theoretical validation Critical Managerial Soft Skills (CMS) Model then psychometric properties newly developed tool - The Inventory (ICMS) assessing same. Design/methodology/approach: CMS model was validated by set qualitative quantitative among employers to confirm importance soft skills derive critical framework (N- 95, 206) this served as basis construction. ICMS has been psychometrically management graduates conducting series research steps (N-975). Findings: is self-reported scale measuring seven managerial candidates namely, Communication skills, Leadership Interpersonal Teamwork Self-Management Skills, Decision-making Goal setting Task efficacy. Research limitations/implications: limited measurement only dimensions which are derived “critical” based on various stages work. Practical implications: can be used recruitment screening pre post-training assessment development students. Social during education help students understand their levels accordingly suitable measures undertaken improve upon course study enhance employability. Originality/value: fully original highly useful researchers practitioners it empirically using appropriate adequate statistical measures.
